M.Y Bunkers is pleased to announce the successful supply of 4,800CBM MGO to the a drilling rig traveling across the med from Istanbul to the North Atlantic. The rig was travelling at a speed of 6-7 knots and had a day rate of 750,000USD per day so delays were not an option.
The rig had a supply vessel the Sea Bulk Asia that would come in to port and take the bunkers and equipment for the rig. Once loaded with bunkers the Supply vessel would then rendezvous with the rig in high sea and transfer the fuel and equipment.
Delivery was taken ex pipe to ensure the quickest and most efficient transfer and not to be affected by Malta’s unpredictable weather conditions. Permits and customs clearance were obtained locally to ensure smooth supply at the Valetta loading terminal. The Supply boat arrived first on the 18th of April for the and the final load was uplifted on the 29th April, successfully completing the transfer of 4,800CBM MGO 0.1 0.86.
M.Y Bunkers were the physical supplier and coordinated the delivery through Scandinavian Bunkering AS who were the owners representative.
 
Scandinavian bunkering AS comments on the operation as follows :
 
“It has indeed been a very complicated operation, and with a day hire of USD 750.000 it came without saying that even the smallest delay would cost a considerable amount of money. However, thanks to the excellent service and problem solving skills of MY Bunkers, even the slightest problem was dealt with in an early phase. By supplying from pipeline both during day and night time we had the operation going more or less continuously without any particular delays. It is my impression from the rig operators as well that they are very happy with the whole operation as such, and from Scandinavian Bunkering’s side we are equally impressed of the local handling and follow-up to get the fuel loaded as quickly as possible in Malta” M.Y Bunkers General Manager Ian Larke said “It was certainly a challenging operation as there was no room for any slip ups. I was very proud impressed at how the team performed and everyone pulled together to make sure things went well. There were some headaches along the way, or better we call them challenges but each one was dealt with calmly and we achieved the desired result a successful operation and a happy customer”

M..Y Bunkers opens office in Malta.
 
Sales enquiries will still be handled from the Cyprus office however the new office will be coordinating supply operations locally to ensure quality of service and back up for M.Y Bunkers ambitious expansion plans later in the year.
General Manager Ian Larke said “I am delighted with the development and although clients will not be affected in the short term it was a positive and essential development in the growth of the company over the next few years. Malta has become the primary focus of the company and it is only right that in order to build on this that the company have a representation locally to manage more closely operations”

Stage Award nominee GENEVIEVE SWALLOW, the talented duo promise unique sketches and a uniquely ironic look at coping with 21st Century living.

M.Y Bunkers is pleased to announce its new Fuel supply option for Malta. As exclusive agent for Cassar Fuels Malta we are pleased to advise the Karol Wojtyla (1,600 CBM ) a modern double hull double bottom tanker will be supplying all grades of intermediate fuel oil and Gas Oil in the ports of Marsaxlokk and Valetta and OPL. Vessel is fitted with a jiskoot blender and has a pumping rate of 500mt per hr.

We have since 2006 been providing a quality service of supplying Gas Oil with the Sacro Cour in Maltese waters and the new barge will  complement the existing service.

M.Y Bunkers lead way in new offshore Ceuta service
M.Y Bunkers is pleased to announce in association with Vilma Oil we are now offering  barge offshore supply in Ceuta. In addition to the current ex pipe service the Mt Sea Dweller will start supplying within Ceuta’s customary anchorage area, supplying HSFO RME 180, HSFO RMG 380, LSFO RME 180, LSFO RMG 380 and MGO DMA 0.1% (specifications as per ISO 8217:2005)
Minimum guaranteed pumping rate: 200 m3/hour (expected pumping rate to be 300-350 m3/hour) Minimum LOA of receiving vessel 130 meters
The new service represents a great alternative to vessels currently restricted to taking bunkers at Gibraltar and of course enables larger vessels that before were unable to take bunkers at the berth in Ceuta to take outside the port.
